Sir David Attenborough has become a household name writing and presenting numerous ground-breaking programmes on the natural world. His career in broadcasting spans nearly half a century and he is the only person to win a television BAFTA in all four formats - black and white, colour, HD and 3D. He presented the Ri Christmas Lectures in 1973.
